There is no cue stick. You ARE the cue ball.

Seven other balls want you in a pocket. You want them in one first.

Charge a flick and your ball crouches under the weight of it. Let go and you launch across the felt. Hop a rail, steer yourself in mid-air, and slam down on whatever is underneath. Last ball rolling takes the lamp.

THREE VERBS, NO CUE

  • FLICK — hold to charge, release to launch. A longer charge sends you further and leaves you standing still while it winds.
  • HOP — leave the felt. Clear a rail, clear a pocket, clear the ball that is currently aiming at you.
  • SLAM — air only. Dive. Whatever is under you goes somewhere it had not planned on.

Strafe while In the air, WASD steers

WHAT IS IN THE DEMO

  • Free-for-all against seven bots that use every ability you do
  • Mouse and keyboard, or controller (Xbox / PlayStation)
  • Ten records on the jukebox, dealt from a shuffle bag — all ten play before any comes round again
  • A pool hall at one in the morning: one lamp, a jukebox, an arcade cabinet nobody is playing
  • Windows and Linux. No installer — unzip and run.

F3 OPENS THE DEV MENU. PLEASE GO BREAK IT.

This is the part I actually want to hear about. F3 during a round opens the dials live, while the balls are still moving:

  • VIEW — camera tilt, zoom, lens, and the three numbers that decide how the view follows you
  • PHYSICS — the simulation's own tuning: pace, friction, cushion bounce, the charge curve, the slam dive, and about twenty more

Nothing saves between launches, so there is no way to break your install — close the game and every dial is back where it shipped.

Change a number, play a round, and tell me if it beat the one it shipped with. “Tilt should be 56” is worth far more to me than “the camera feels off.”

TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK

Comments are open below. What I am most curious about:

  • Does the flick feel right — too floaty, too heavy, too slow to wind up?
  • Is a round the right length, or does it drag once it is down to two?
  • The bots: too easy, too sharp, too samey?
  • Any F3 dial you moved and liked better than the default
  • What broke, and on what machine
